MARQUETTE — Tonight’s sexual harassment discussion sponsored by the Marquette Branch of the American Association of University Women has been postponed one week.

The event, which features Janet Koski, Northern Michigan University’s Title IX and Equal Opportunity coordinator, talking about “Fighting Sexual Harassment” is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at the Federated Women’s Clubhouse, 104 W. Ridge St., Marquette.

Title IX is a comprehensive federal civil rights law aimed at preventing gender discrimination in education. It has been much in the news lately, as the Department of Education has withdrawn tools that schools used to clarify their responsibilities in responding to charges of sexual harassment.

Koski will focus on efforts within NMU to promote equality and minimize harassment, both in employment and among students.

The discussion is free and open to the public. All are welcome.
