NEGAUNEE — Police have released the names of the people involved in the fatal two-vehicle crash that led to the death of one person Sunday.

The victim of the fatal car crash was William E. Tull, 29, of North Pioneer Avenue in Negaunee, according to the Negaunee Police Department.

The second driver involved in the crash, who was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, was Gerald W. Kippola, 69, of Vine Street in Ishpeming.

The collision took place around 4 p.m. Sunday on the 700 block of County Road in Negaunee when an eastbound yellow 1997 Ford E-350 driven by Kippola collided “roughly head-on” with a westbound black 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by Tull, police reported.

Tull was pronounced dead at the scene after he was extricated from the vehicle by the Negaunee Fire Department and treated by UP Health System EMS, police said.
