Above and at right, attendees gather in the Masonic Building to enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres and participate in raffles before lip sync performances begin Friday evening. The Lake Superior Health Care & Hospice’s fourth annual Lip Sync Battle fundraising event featured performances from members of Upper Peninsula Health Plan, Radio Results Network, TV6, Justin Case and Sie Zwei Damen, and Pure Body. Attendees could participate in a 50/50 raffle, door prize drawing, two live auctions and bucket raffles. Funds raised during Lake Superior Health Care & Hospice’s biggest fundraiser of the year go toward providing patient services and the patient care fund, which allows the organization to provide special services for patients. “What’s really great about it is, it’s all local talent,” said Chief Executive Officer of Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice Sue Kitti. “It’s the support from the community and outpouring of love and generosity from all the people that make it happen … This helps people know who we are and what we do. We’re doing this for patients.” Support for this year’s event came from Double Trouble Entertainment, The Mining Journal, Vango’s Pizza, UP Health Systen, Imperial Beverage, VAST and other local businesses.
