MARQUETTE — The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the man killed in a fatal accident in Delta County Saturday.

According to police, Michael Doneau, 59, of Schaefer was pronounced dead at St. Francis hospital following at two-car personal injury accident that occurred Saturday.

Deputies were dispatched to the Hyde area around 9:20 p.m. Saturday or a two-car personal injury accident and officers found Doneau unresponsive male on the scene.

Doneau had traveling eastbound when his vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by a 22-year-old female from Bark River, police said. Two passengers, along with the female driver, were treated and released at the St. Francis Hospital. Doneau was pronounced dead at St. Francis hospital, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation at this time, police said this morning.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Hannahville Tribal Police, Escanaba Public Safety, Michigan State Police, Ford River Fire/EMS, UP Health Systems, Delta County Victim Advocates, Gene’s Towing and the Delta County Road Commission.
