MARQUETTE — Chief of Police Don McCormick announced this morning that the new parking regulation for a portion of North Third Street will be enforced beginning tomorrow.

The regulation, adopted by the Marquette City Commission on a 90-day trial basis, provides for a two-hour parking only on both sides of North Third Street between West Michigan and West Arch streets, during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Sundays.

Signs indicating the parking rules have been posted, Chief McCormick said, and violators will be ticketed, in accordance with instructions of the city commission. The North Third Street order was adopted as a result of a study of the traffic control plan which was previously in effect there, the city commission stated.

Previously, the city commission had a yellow curb (no parking) mark in front of one of the buildings.
