Black bear shooting reported
GWINN — A shot was fired at a black bear reportedly acting aggressively early Thursday evening.
The Forsyth Township Police Department said that around 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of Marquette County Road 456, a bear reportedly came at an individual, which resulted in the shot being fired at the animal.
The individual believes the bear was struck and ran into the woods.
The matter was investigated by Forsyth Township police and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The animal was unable to be located.
Anyone who sees bears in the area is asked to call the DNR.
