Man sent to hospital after motorcycle crash

MARQUETTE — A Rhinelander, Wisconsin, man was injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday in Homestead Township, Wisconsin, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Lawerence Jolitz, 67, was travelling east on County Highway N, 100 feet west of Main Road in Homestead Township when he lost control of the motorcycle and went off the road, officials said.

A passerby found Jolitz laying in the ditch and authorities believe he was thrown from his motorcycle, according to a press release from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Jolitz, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered head injuries and was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital by Aurora-Homestead Rescue and Beacon Ambulance, according to Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

The Florence County Highway Department assisted with traffic control at the scene, the release states.
