1 sent to hospital after crash

MARQUETTE — Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle traffic crash Thursday, with one of the injured parties was transported to UP Health System-Marquette, according to a press release from Michigan State Police.

A Michigan State Police Trooper came upon the accident 10:35 a.m. Thursday in Negaunee Township. According to police, one eastbound vehicle turned on to U.S. 41 and was impacted by a westbound vehicle.

The names of the drivers are not being released and no passengers were involved in the traffic crash, according to Michigan State Police. The crash remains under investigation.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, along with Negaunee Township Fire and EMS, assisted with response to the crash.

The release states Michigan State Police “would like to thank all civilian bystanders that assisted in caring for the injured drivers and directing traffic until emergency personnel arrived on scene.”
