LWV encourages voter engagement

MARQUETTE — League of Women Voters of Delta County, Marquette County Unit, urges voters in Marquette County to prepare for the upcoming primary election by visiting VOTE411.org to find their polling place, check voting hours, learn about the candidates, find out about the local proposals and read tips about voting in Michigan.

“Voters in Marquette County need simple, helpful tools to help them navigate the voting process and Election Day,” said Darlene Allen, Marquette County Unit leader, in a press release. “VOTE411.org is a valuable online election resource, and the Marquette Unit of the League of Women Voters provides information on the candidates running for office in our community on VOTE411.org so that it can serve as a resource for all of Marquette County voters. Simply enter your address for your customized information.”

The newly re-established Marquette Unit provides voter registration, online voters’ guide, voter education and candidate forums, and has established a countywide Observer Corps.

“This year, millions of voters will head to the polls and stand up for what matters most to our communities and our lives,” Allen said. “The best thing we can all do is urge everyone to prepare by visiting VOTE411.org and go vote. Our elected officials have incredible influence over the issues and policies that affect our families and communities most. Election Day is our chance to weigh in and take control over what is most important to us.”
