MDOT to restore two bridges

MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $1.2 million to restore two bridges on U.S. 2/U.S. 41 and M-35.

Work on the U.S. 2/U.S. 41 bridge over the Ford River near Hyde in Delta County will begin on Monday and be completed by the end of June. Then, the contractor will move to the M-35 bridge over the Cedar River in Menominee County. The projects will include replacing pins and hangers, painting, and deck patching. All work will be completed by early October. The Cedar River bridge will have a two-year bridge paint warranty.

One lane will be open in alternating directions with temporary traffic signals. The project is projected to be completed in early October.
