MARQUETTE — The Union National Bank’s “Shiver-O” contest died a frosty death at 7:16 Saturday night when the time/temperature clock installed last summer registered -5 below zero for the first time during the winter of 1957-58. Top prize winner of the contest was Miss Lily Johnson, Marquette, whose guess of 7:25 p.m. Feb. 15 — nine minutes away — was the closest of more than 3,300 cards received by the bank for the unique event. She will receive a prize of $100. Other winners were: Second, Miss Ida Ernstedt, Marquette, 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15, $50; and third, Mrs. Leah Grimes, Marquette, 8 p.m. Feb. 15, $25.
