Yelle bound over to circuit court

MARQUETTE — Tyler Scott Yelle, 32, of Marquette, was bound over to Marquette County Circuit Court following his preliminary examination in the 96th District Court Wednesday. Yelle has been charged with one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder; a count of assault with a dangerous weapon — felonious assault; and one count of assault and battery. Yelle is scheduled for arraignment on Feb. 23 in circuit court.

Air Force band to perform at NMU

MARQUETTE — The United States Air Force Band of Mid-America’s Midwest Winds will present a concert at Northern Michigan University’s Reynolds Recital Hall at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The wrong venue had been listed in previous releases.

Admission to the concert is free and tickets are not required. Presented in partnership with Northern Michigan University, this is a family-friendly, all-ages event.

The Midwest Winds woodwind quintet is an ambassador of the Air Force Band of Mid-America, providing a highly professional product to communicate esprit de corps and render honor to our Airmen and country. The group offers a wide range of musical literature from classical and contemporary music to marches and patriotic crowd pleasers to light popular music.

Police probe Lower Harbor thefts

MARQUETTE — Numerous larcenies from boats in Marquette’s Lower Harbor area are currently under investigation, according to a press release from the Marquette City Police Department.

Marquette police have recovered many items that were allegedly stolen from boats during 2016 and 2017. The police department advises people who believe they have had property stolen from their boat to contact them at 906-228-0400.

Police ID injured snowmobiler

SHINGLETON — The name and condition of the victim injured in a single-snowmobile accident on Trail No. 8 near the M-28 and Shingleton Road intersection has been released.

Jordan Michael Randall, 34, of Port Huron, was listed in serious condition at UP Health System-Marquette, according to a recent press release from Alger County Sheriff’s Office. Police received a report that Randall had exited the snowmobile trail and drove into a creek on Sunday around 11:30 p.m. Randall was estimated to be at the scene for around 45 minutes prior to his discovery. He was transported to UP Health Systems-Marquette by Valley Med Systems. The accident is still under investigation.
