Wilson Street closed for repairs

MARQUETTE — Beginning at 8 a.m. today Wilson Street in Marquette will be closed to through traffic between Osprey Court and O’Dovero Drive due to a water line repair. The work is expected to be completed by 4 p.m. Residents along Daybreak Drive will be without water during the repair.

Garbage, recycle carts underway

MARQUETTE — Delivery of garbage and recycle carts ordered by Marquette residents has begun.

The carts are continuing to be placed curbside in front of the homes throughout the city of Marquette.

Carts with yellow lids are to be used for the dual-stream recycling program; carts with green lids are to be used for trash only. The size of the garbage cart being provided to each home was elected on the order form supplied to the city.

Try to place carts curbside or in the nearest opening to allow drivers to access them safely and efficiently.

For those residents switching to the cart program, the monthly solid waste fee will be updated starting with the February billing. The collection schedule remains the same. Residents are encouraged to begin using the carts immediately.
