NEGAUNEE — Two people were injured when a car crashed into a semi-truck in Negaunee on Friday morning.

Negaunee City Police Department officers were dispatched at 10:33 a.m. to the westbound lanes of U.S. 41 near the entrance of Cattron’s Lumber, according to a press release.

Officials say the minivan driven by Tracy Jourden of Palmer, traveling westbound, crashed into the rear of the semi-truck driven by Louis Bonetti of Vulcan as he was exiting the highway into the business’s parking lot.

The two passengers of the minivan were transported to UP Health System-Marquette, the release states. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

Jourden was found at fault, officials say. The crash remains under investigation.

The Negaunee Fire Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and UPHS EMS assisted at the scene.
