Man arrested for vehicle theft
MARQUETTE — A 37-year-old Marquette man was arrested Sunday for larceny and stealing a vehicle from the Lake Superior Village in Marquette.
The suspect was arrested for unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license and larceny in a building, according to a press release from the Marquette Police Department.
Authorities received a report of a stolen vehicle around 9:20 a.m. at the Lake Superior Village, located along Dobson Place off of Wright Street, the release states.
On Sunday, police observed the missing vehicle traveling on East Crescent Street and initiated a traffic stop. Property reportedly taken from the Lake Superior Village location was later recovered at the suspect’s residence, according to police.
The suspect is lodged in the Marquette County Jail pending charges and court action.
