1 injured in U.S. 41 accident

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee City Police Department responded to a single motor vehicle accident on U.S. 41 near ABC Storage at about 6:04 p.m. Thursday.

A 43-year-old female from Ishpeming was traveling west in a 2015 Dodge Journey when the vehicle left the north side of the road, crashing into ABC Storage unit property.

It is believed the driver suffered a medical issue, causing her to crash into the building, according to a police news release. The driver was treated on scene by UP Health System-Bell and left the scene with family members. She was the only occupant of the vehicle and no other injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were UPHS-Bell, Marquette County Rescue Unit 131, Negaunee City Fire Department and Antilla’s Towing.

Peter White library to close

MARQUETTE — The Peter White Public Library in Marquette will be closed Saturday through Monday for the Christmas holiday. The library will resume normal business hours on Tuesday.
