Rollover crash in Richmond Township

­­PALMER — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that took place Friday on M-35 in Richmond Township.

Police were dispatched to the crash at 9:05 p.m., according to a release from the sheriff’s office. Kevin Mays, 25, of Gwinn was traveling north on M-35 near Marquette County Road MQ in a 2002 Dodge Caravan when he lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, rolling the vehicle, police said.

Mays was wearing his seat belt and no airbags were deployed. There were four other occupants in the vehicle, all of whom were searing their seat belts. One passenger was assessed on scene and transported to UP Health System-Marquette for further assessment.

M-35 was reduced to one lane of traffic for about an hour.

Assisting at the scene were the Forsyth Township Police Department, Richmond Township Fire/EMS, UPHS-Marquette EMS and Bear Auto Repair & Towing.
