‘Pirates of the Michigamme’
A firetruck makes its way through downtown Republic during the “Pirates of the Michigamme” parade Friday. The 27th annual Republic Sportman’s Club Fishing Derby is taking place this weekend. Fishing kicked off today at 6 a.m. Other events throughout the weekend include a beer tent today, along with live music from Spun, a bonfire and fireworks at dark. On Sunday, there will be more live music, and at the conclusion of the derby, cash prizes and trophies will be handed out. (Journal photo by Justin Marietti)
