Marquette man accused of sexual behavior with minor

MARQUETTE — A 19-year-old Marquette man was arraigned Tuesday in Marquette County District Court on three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly engaging in sexual behavior with a 14-year-old juvenile.

Darrell James Patterson Jr. was arrested Monday on a warrant issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office, according to a press release from the Marquette City Police Department.

Patterson is scheduled for a probable cause conference at 10:30 a.m. July 26 and a preliminary examination at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in district court.

His arrest followed an investigation by Marquette police.

Patterson was unable to post bond, which was set at 10 percent of $10,000 on each count, and was lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

Third-degree criminal sexual conduct is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
