Annual golf classic raising money for teen wellbeing
CHAMPION — The ninth annual Wawonowin Country Club Golf Classic takes place on Friday.
The event is hosted by the West End Health Foundation and the Marquette County Cares Coalition, and all of the funds raised will be returned to the community through MC2’s programs.
An upscale brunch with a mimosa and bloody mary bar will be provided, along with a shotgun start for 18 holes of golf and an award ceremony with heavy appetizers.
MC2 promotes healthy development of young people in Marquette County by offering tested, effective prevention programs covering topics such as teen mental health, parental involvement and social-emotional skills.
In addition, the coalition provides young people with opportunities, skills and recognition that strengthen bonds to both school and community.
Over 200 lessons were delivered in 2023 to over 300 students thanks to funding from the community.
The schedule for the event is listed below:
≤ 9-10 a.m. – Registration and upscale brunch
≤ 10:15 a.m. – Shotgun start
≤ 3 p.m. – Heavy appetizers, beverages and awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will begin when the last team enters the clubhouse.
The Wawonowin Country Club is located at 3432 Marquette County Road 478 in Champion.
