ST. IGNACE — The names of two people from Ohio who were killed in a Saturday accident in Moran Township have been released.

The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office reported that they have been identified as Jordan Hostetler, 22, and Joas Miller, 27, both of Plain City, Ohio.

MCSO deputies investigated the multiple-vehicle personal-injury accident that occurred on Saturday on U.S. 2 about 13 miles west of St. Ignace in Moran Township.

Hostetler and Miller were killed when the vehicle in which they were passengers lost control and was struck by another vehicle. Four other people were injured and treated at local hospitals.

MCSO said that high winds, blowing snow and slippery roads may have been factors in the accident.

Assisting the MCSO at the scene were Straits Area Ambulance, St. Ignace Fire and Rescue, Brevort Township Fire Department, Hendricks Township Fire Department, Hudson Township Fire and Rescue, Garfield EMS, Emmet County EMS, Mackinaw City Fire Department, the Michigan Department of Transportation, Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction of Gaylord with accident investigators from Sault Ste.
