SHF golf outing scheduled

By Journal staff

MARQUETTE — The Superior Health Foundation’s annual Golf Outing will be held at 10 a.m. on June 17, at the Red Fox Run Golf Course in K.I. Sawyer.

The event is presented by A. Lindberg & Sons Inc. and Fraco.

Proceeds from the four-person golf scramble will benefit the Superior Health Foundation for grant funding.

In addition, at least $5,000 in funding will be granted to Project Jade, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Marquette County. Project Jade’s mission is to provide communication boards to schools, parks and playgrounds, as well as assist children with a variety of special needs in securing any tools or equipment needed.

“Project Jade is a wonderful organization dedicated to helping children with special needs,” said Jim LaJoie, executive director of the Superior Health Foundation in a news release. “These communication boards are invaluable and incredibly helpful to children. We are honored to support this organization and look forward to a terrific day on the links.”

The Superior Health Foundation is seeking lunch ($1,500) and prize ($1,000) sponsorships (each comes with a four-person team), along with fun hole ($250) sponsors. Team registration is now open. Sponsorship and team registration forms are available at the SHF office at 121 N. Front St., Marquette, or online at www.superiorhealthfoundation.org.

The event is $100 per person or $400 per team. Registration includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, a goody bag, a golf towel and a chance to win many prizes in a silent auction and prize wheel.

The SHF partners with a health-centered nonprofit each year for the golf outing, with priority going to health-centered initiatives or projects ($5,000 or below) that benefit a large geographic population across the Upper Peninsula.

Those with questions are asked to call the Superior Health Foundation at 906-225-6914 or email shf@superiorhealthfoundation.org.
