Child and Family Charities flies in gifts

Dan Homolek, top, a captain with the Masco Corporation, hands a present to Michael Kangas, who works with security for Boreal Aviation, during Saturday’s Operation Good Cheer at Boreal’s terminal at Sawyer International. The annual event, coordinated by the Lansing-based Child and Family Charities, is a volunteer Christmas gift-giving program to help kids in out-of-home placement. Gifts to local children were flown in Saturday from downstate. Local recipients this year are Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan, U.P. Kids and Upper Peninsula Family Solutions, Inc.
