MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a missing person in the area of Hogback Mountain.

According to a news release, the sheriff’s office received a missing person complaint for Aaron Royal McGeorge, 40, of Marquette Township. It is believed McGeorge left his house Monday between 7 and 11:30 a.m. in a red 2011 Ford F-150 pickup truck, police said.

A search was underway for McGeorge as of Tuesday afternoon. Marquette County Search and Rescue are using tracking dogs in the search and requests that the public avoid the area around Hogback Mountain to avoid scent contamination.

McGeorge is described at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds with dark short or shaved hair, brown eyes, and usually wears a baseball-style hat.

He has a thin mustache with additional facial hair below his lower lip. It is unknown what clothing McGeorge was wearing at the time he was reported missing, police said.
