Meltdown mania

Teal Lake the site of annual gathering

This is the replica of a mine shaft head-frame structure, which was put on the ice by the Negaunee Lions Club on Teal Lake in Negaunee on Saturday for the annual Teal Lake Meltdown. The meltdown is a contest to select the exact time and day the head-frame drops through the ice. The entry coming the closest to the day and time is the winner. For details, see the Teal Lake Meltdown page on Facebook. From left are Negaunee Lions Club member Neil Lynch, club President Mike Smock and club member Walter Scanlon.
