MUNISING — Police are investigating what they described as a “suspicious” death of a Munising man.

The Munising Police Department responded to a report of a 58-year-old unresponsive male subject at his residence in Munising at 8 p.m. Thursday, a press release from the department states.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Alger County EMS.

The investigation is in its early stages and more information is expected to be released as it progresses and the appropriate notifications are made, according to the press release.

Munising police officers were assisted at the scene by detectives from the Michigan State Police, the Michigan State Police Crime Lab and deputies from the Alger County Sheriff’s Department, the release states.

Officials were not available for comment before press time today.
