2019 Progress Edition in today’s Mining Journal

MARQUETTE — Inside today’s issue of The Mining Journal is the newspaper’s annual Progress Edition, which provides readers with the area’s highlights for the past 12 months.

With a dozen sections, stories cover a wide range of topics, from mining to dining and everything in between.

“There is truly something in it for everyone,” said Managing Editor Bud Sargent. “It’s a must read.”

The edition weighs in at more than 100 pages, with sections showcasing local arts and culture, medical, minerals extraction, Northern Michigan University and public education, as well as many others.

The Progress Edition is a product of months of work by The Mining Journal staff and offers its readers a look back at 2018, with a glimpse of what’s to come in the next 12 months.

This special edition is published annually in March and is the culmination of work and close coordination between Mining Journal departments.

Work started in January with staff reviewing what had happened in the area, Sargent added.
