Localized flooding swells creek, covers roads

A swollen creek in Marquette caused city officials to close portions of Pioneer Road and Division Street Wednesday. Rainfall recorded at the National Weather Service station in Negaunee Township on Wednesday was 2.96 inches, which was more than 2 inches above the previous record of .71 inch set in 1983, according to an official NWS record event report.
