MARQUETTE — An Ishpeming man has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on Aug. 28 at 635 Iron St. in Ishpeming.

Brandon Lee Schiefel, 24, was arrested Thursday without incident on a 12-count felony warrant issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the Ishpeming Police Department.

The charges include one count each of assault with intent to commit murder, discharge of a firearm in or at a building and discharge of a firearm from a vehicle, along with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon/felonious assault and six counts of felony firearms. The maximum charge of assault with intent to commit murder carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

The Michigan State Police Crime Lab assisted Ishpeming police in the collection of evidence. No injuries were reported as a result of incident. Schiefel was among three individuals police sought as people of interest on Aug. 29, though no other arrests have been made.
