MARQUETTE — Several events are scheduled this weekend in Marquette County to recognize the Memorial Day holiday.

Two Memorial Day services will be conducted in the city of Marquette on Monday.

The Park Cemetery service will start at 9:30 a.m. and Holy Cross Cemetery service will start at 10:15 a.m.

On Monday, VFW Post 3165 will be participating in the annual Memorial Day Parade in downtown Negaunee.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. at Gold and Iron streets, go East on Iron Street, north on Pioneer Avenue, east on Main Street, north on McKenzie Avenue, and west on Case Street back to the downtown area.

Memorial services will follow immediately after parade at Negaunee Cemetery, and another service at Chapel Garden Cemetery immediately following Negaunee Cemetery service.

The public is invited to the Negaunee VFW Post 3165 following both services for food and refreshments hosted by the VFW auxiliary.

In Ishpeming Memorial Day Services will be conducted at the Ishpeming Cemetery Monday starting with a processional at 9:45 a.m.

The colors will be presented and various veterans organizations will conduct a program in tribute to the fallen patriots. In case of rain, the service will be at the American Legion Post 114, Greenwood location. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
