HOUGTHON — The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office has officially released the names of the two victims of a vehicle fire in Portage Township Sunday.

Joshua Michael Becia, 19, of Portage Township, and Jay Henry Stevens, also 19, of Painesdale, have been positively identified by the Houghton County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to a press release Wednesday by the sheriff’s office.

The release states the truck fire occurred on Bear Creek Road/Donken-Tapiola Cross Cut Road, but gives no other details, other than to state the accident remains under investigation.
