The Phil Niemisto statue in the West Washington Street pocket park of Marquette has been adorned with loving tributes to the beloved community icon since Niemisto’s passing on Sunday. Flowers, beads and a small Christmas tree accompany Niemisto’s likeness, celebrating his life and many contributions to the community in his 88 years.
