PWPL youth activities schedule

The Peter White Public Library in Marquette has announced its schedule for youth activities:

Peter White Public Library Summer Reading Kids Read. Drive-up Registration

Monday, June 15, Tuesday, June 16, Wednesday, June 17. 9-11a.m. and 5-7p.m. Graveraet and Cherry Creek Elementary School parking lot. All Marquette area youth 0-14 are encouraged to participate in PWPL’s summer reading program to earn free books this summer. Online registration opened on June 6 at pwpl.info so sign up online and start reading. Even if the young person already have signed up online, they are encouraged to come to either Graveraet or Cherry Creek Elementary school parking lots on the days listed to get an Imagine Your Story bag.

PWPL staff will also help youth sign up for summer reading if they have not signed up yet.

The bag will contain a reading log, a free book, program information for the summer and more. Remain in your car when you arrive, library staff will social distance and be wearing masks. If the person cannot make any of these, please call PWPL to arrange a different time to pick up a registration bag. No admission charge. Once Upon a Storytime: Virtual Event

Tuesday, and Thursday, June 16, 18, 23, 25, 30: 10-10:30 a.m. Virtual Event. Peter White Public Library Youth Services Facebook Page. Families with youth of all ages are invited to join in for the library fairytale themed storytime this summer as part of PWPL’s Imagine Your Story summer reading program. Teen Tuesday, To-Go Kit pickup

Tuesdays June 16, 23 and 30: 2-4 p.m. Under tent on PWPL’s Front Street lawn. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the library’s Imagine Your Story Teen Tuesday take home program. Take home kits include four art projects and two cooking projects. Instructions are included for each project, limit of one kit per teen. No admission charge. Muggles for Potter: Virtual Event

Wednesday, June 17 and Wednesday, July 15: 2-3 p.m. Virtual Event. Zoom meeting. Young wizards going into second and third grades are invited to join a Zoom meeting. Hear the story read aloud and do fun wizard-world crafts while listening to the story. Peter White Public Library Youth Services: Call for Art: “The Ickabog” Art Stroll

Now taking submissions for “The Ickabog’ Art Stroll.” J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is releasing a fairy tale online this summer. Go to theickabog.com and read the story as chapters are released every week and use the illustration themes to base your illustrations on. Go to pwpl.info for submission directions, deadline is Aug. 3. There will be an outdoor art stroll Aug. 10-14. No admission charge.
