NPL to participate in tech initiative

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Public Library has been selected to participate in Libraries Lead with Digital Skills, an initiative of the American Library Association and the Public Library Association.

It is sponsored by Grow with Google, the tech company’s economic opportunity initiative. The library will use the funding to assist job seekers with technology.

In the second stage of the program, the library will offer tutoring sessions for job seekers who struggle with technology. One-on-one assistance will be offered from 4-5 p.m. every other Wednesday, beginning this Wednesday.

RSVP is appreciated, but drop-ins will be assisted as time and staffing allows.

Help provided includes help with basic internet skills, resume writing, attaching files to emails, filling out online job applications, using Google resources in job hunting, and using career preparation tools on MeL, the Michigan e-Library.

For more information or to sign up for a session, call the library at 906-475-7700, ext. 18, email Library Director Jessica Holman at jdholman@uproc.lib.mi.us, find it on Facebook, or visit the website at http://joomla.uproc.lib.mi.us/Negaunee/.
