MARQUETTE — American Legion Department Service Officer Gary Easterling will be in Marquette from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at American Legion Post 44, 700 W. Bluff St.

Easterling is the director of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation for the Michigan American Legion. According to a release from the American Legion, Easterling is very knowledgeable on the appeals process and is available to assist all veterans and families of veterans with claims preparation, presentation, counsel and appeal counsel at no cost to the veterans.

Anyone who believes they may be eligible for VA compensation on health, education and/or employment issues is invited to stop by Post 44 to see Easterling.
