Support awareness for vets set

MARQUETTE — Thomas Theatre Group announces its partnership with Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center to bring support awareness for veterans.

Starting now and running throughout the winter, every Thomas Theatre soft drink cup will be labeled with a Veterans Crisis hotline label. Thomas Theatre Group also will air awareness messages in advance of each movie screening throughout their 26 movie houses at their three locations in Marquette, Quinnesec and Escanaba.

“We are really excited about this promotion and the theatres ability to partner with us. The Veteran Suicide Prevention Initiative is something that is very important, and we want to spread the message that there is support and help for those who need it,” said Sharon Anastas, Suicide Prevention Coordinator for Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in a press release.

“Supporting veterans in our community is important to us. We didn’t want to pass up this opportunity to advocate for them by bringing awareness to this important cause. They have sacrificed for our country and we want them to know that we are thankful for their service and the sacrifices made for our freedom and we support them,” said Thomas D. Andes, President of Thomas Theatre Group.

As part of their year-round support of veterans in the community, all three Thomas Theatre locations offer the senior rate for veterans who show their military ID.
