Student art show now on display

CURTIS — The sixth annual Student Art Show is on display in the Waterfront Gallery at the Erickson Center for the Arts through March 27.

This showcase contains a large variety of artwork provided by students of all ages from Tahquamenon Area Schools, Three Lakes Academy, Engadine Consolidated Schools, and local home-schooling programs.

The purpose of this exhibit is to demonstrate how essential art is as a part of a child’s education.

Patrons of the show will be given a chance to vote for the “People’s Choice Award” presented to one student from each of the schools at the end of the exhibit. A student reception will be from 2-4 p.m. March 15. Parents are encouraged to bring their students so that they can represent their work in the exhibit.

The Student Art Show can be seen during the center’s regular business hours — 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday — and is free to the public.
