Klava Klub to meet Wednesday

MARQUETTE — At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Peter White Public Library will host a meeting of its science fiction book group, Klava Klub, at The Crib, located at 401 N. Third St. Marquette.

In “Parable of the Talents” by Octavia Butler, a sequel to “Parable of the Sower,” Lauren Olamina and her followers have established a rural community, Acorn, practicing Lauren’s new faith Earthseed, where God is change and the goal is to colonize the stars. However, they are not safe from the rising forces of Christian fundamentalism.

There is no admission charge to attend. For more information, visit www.pwpl.info or call 226-4318.
