NCLL program at PWPL

MARQUETTE — Northern Center for Lifelong Learning presents “Bringing Smiles Across the Miles” from 7-8:45 p.m. Nov. 19 in Peter White Public Library’s Heritage Room.

The cost is $3 for members; $6 for non-members. Registration deadline is Monday. Seating is limited so pre-registration is needed. Register through NCLL Office located at 204 Jacobetti Complex; 227-2979; ncll@nmu.edu

The presenter is Dr. Gwen Buck, DDS, Northern Trails Dental Care, Gwinn, who will share her adventures doing dentistry without electricity via organizations such as “Flying Doctors of America.”

Attendees will learn the process involved to do this and what she has learned about herself, others and life in general from this work. Expect trivia, fun facts and photos and even a prize or two for correct answers.

Holocaust survivor to speak here

MARQUETTE — Marquette Alternative High School presents an evening with Holocaust survivor Martin Lowenberg from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Reynolds Recital Hall at Northern Michigan University. Admission is free.

Lowenberg will share his experiences from World War II. He will emphasize the importance of ridding the world of hate to bring peace.

The event is sponsored by Marquette Area Public Schools, NMU and the Landmark Inn.
