‘State of Pride’ screened Sept. 9

MARQUETTE — DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2019 YouTube Originals documentary “State of Pride” at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level of the library.

Released on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, State of Pride takes a look at what the Pride Movement means to young people today. Directed by award-winning directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, Raymond Braun travels to major and rural cities in America to interview various members of the LGBTQ community, asking them to describe the significance of Pride to them and to describe their own personal journeys. This film runs for 71 minutes.

Community meal held in Gwinn

GWINN — Grace Lutheran Church in Gwinn will be serving its free monthly community meal from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Everyone is invited to this Table of Grace at which Spanish rice will be served.

The handicapped accessible church is located at 558 W. M-35 in Gwinn.

Takeouts will be available after 6 p.m.

Trout Unlimited to meet Wednesday

MARQUETTE — The Fred Waara Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its monthly board meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Barrel + Beam, 260 Northwoods Road, Marquette.

All who are interested in conservation and cold water fisheries are welcome.

Wellness clinic dates announced

MARQUETTE — UP Home Health and Hospice has announced its Wellness Clinic for September.

Note that Chocolay is a new date for September. Also, the clinic will not be at Pine Ridge Apartments until further notice, but all Pine Ridge residents are encouraged to attend a different one if they are able.

Radio association to meet Thursday

NEGAUNEE — The Hiawatha Amateur Radio Association’s monthly meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Marquette County Health Department building (lower level) in Negaunee Township.
