Registration is $10. RSVP to Mary at 486-8096 or Joanne at 226-3388.

The tour is set for 2 p.m. Sept. 10. Members will gather at the historic Mather Inn in Ishpeming.

The Historic Mather Inn, the home away from home for Jimmy Stewart and the cast and crew of the movie “Anatomy of a Murder” will provide a unique location to begin the tour of the Ishpeming sights significant in the filming of this iconic film.

Alice Johnson, retired MARSP board member and first-hand witness 60 years ago, will share the mystery of … Jimmy Stewart’s wayward pajamas. She will also present the door prize: a hoodie featuring the wall in the Old Roosevelt Bar signed by the “Anatomy of a Murder” cast and crew.

There will be a guided tour of the Mather Inn and dessert selections by Midtown, Huron Mountain, Rare Earth.

Also as part of the tour, Dr. Russ Magnaghi, Northern Michigan University historian/author, will offer insights about “Anatomy” author John Voelker’s home.

Stacey Willey, Ishpeming historian/author, will provide background information and handouts. There will be a walking tour although some may wish to drive.

Willey will lead the tour, pointing out locations featured in the film and favorite haunts of the cast using a map she authored in honor of the 60th anniversary of the film.

Everyone will reconnect at the Old Roosevelt Bar (now Inspired Art & Gifts) which has parking on 206 W. Washington St. and at the Ishpeming Senior Center.

There will be talk about Charles Kuralt’s “Anatomy” documentary as well as a chance to trek downstairs for the signature wall. Inspired Art & Gifts will have “Anatomy of a Murder” memorabilia available for purchase.
