Concert held at Kaufman Auditorium

MARQUETTE — At 7 p.m. Monday, there will be an ecletic concert at the Kaufman Auditorium featuring everything from ballet to blues in support of public libraries in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Michigan.

Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Superiorland Library Cooperative and distributed to public libraries in the form of grants for programs. This summer, the Superiorland Library Cooperative awarded approximately $3,700 in a new mini-grant program to 11 libraries for author visits, magicians, musicians, summer reading prizes, and more.

The cooperative plans to continue and expand the mini-grant program into a year round opportunity for its member libraries.

In addition to being a fundraiser, the concert is intended to highlight public library services that the community may not be aware of such as the Great Lakes Digital Libraries eBook and and downloadable audio book collections that are free for all patrons.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com or at the door.
