Cooking classes to be offered

MARQUETTE — The Marquette-Alger RESA and the Marquette Food Co-op are partnering to offer family cooking classes.

These classes were made possible through grant funds MARESA received from the Superior Health Foundation to support local school weekend backpack food programs. The classes will be at Ishpeming High School and at the Marquette Food Co-op.

Parents and children will learn to make a delicious, healthy and affordable meal together that they will prepare and eat the evening of the class. Participants will also have a chance to ask any and all food questions they might have and take-home recipes and tips for eating healthy on a budget. Prizes will be available, including a basket of goodies from the Marquette Food Co-op.

The family cooking classes will run from 6-7:30 p.m. on the following dates: Ishpeming High School on Wednesday and Marquette Food Co-op on April 23.

Interested families may register by calling Bea at 225-0671 ext. 701.
