‘Green Book’ screening set

MARQUETTE — Bring lunch and get together with other movie lovers to watch “Green Book” at 12:30 p.m. April 2 in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level of the library.

Closed captioning will be on to ensure access for all. This film is based on the true story of Don Shirley, an African American classical pianist who tours the Deep South in 1962. To drive him from show to show, he hires Italian American Tony Vallelonga, temporarily out of work when the nightclub that employs him closes for renovations. Starring Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali and Linda Cardellini, this 2018 Biographical Comedy is rated PG-13 and runs 130 minutes.

“Green Book,” nominated for 88 awards, won 53 including three Oscars and three Golden Globes for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actor in a Supporting Role-Mahershala Ali.
