Bean bag — American Legion Post 114 in west Ishpeming is hosting a Bean bag tournament. Entry is $30 a two-person team, with food included. A cash bar will be available. Registration is at noon and play starts at 1 p.m. This event is open to the public. Call 486-4074 to register ahead of time.

Life drawing — Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library will once again hold its popular, free, “Life Drawing” class from noon to 2 p.m. Basic drawing materials are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own. This is a “drop in” class — there is no registration. No experience is necessary. All models for the class will be volunteers from the community.

Civil War — Camp #266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting at 1 p.m. n the old board room at the Jacobetti Veterans Home in Marquette. The room is on the lower level of the Home and easily accessible from the rear parking lot. Anyone interested in the organization including women is welcome to attend. Show Me The Money Day — Show Me the Money Day Marquette is from 2-4 p.m. at the YMCA of Marquette, 1420 Pine St. Show Me the Money Day is a free financial resource fair meant to help people reach money goals. Join Community Action Alger Marquette and the YMCA of Marquette County for workshops and informational tables from community resources including banks and credit unions. Enjoy food, fun and prizes. SAYT fundraiser — Superior Arts Youth Theater is hosting its second annual murder mystery fundraiser. This 21+ event, taking place from 6-10 p.m. upstairs at the Northern Michigan University Bottum University Center, will feature a raffle, cash bar, and a 1950s prom-themed, live-action murder mystery performance in three acts by The Murder Mystery Company — a professional theatrical company originally based in Grand Rapids and now performing in 20 states. Recommended dress for this night of murderous mayhem is puffy sleeved prom gowns, classy 1950s dress wear, or white and black suits. Ticket and raffle proceeds benefit Superior Arts Youth Theater. tickets for this event are $65 for individuals or $500 for a table, and include admission to the performance, two complimentary drink tickets per guest, and hors d’oeuvres.
