Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli — will hold his next community office hours from 10 a.m. to noon in the Dandelion Cottage room, located on the first floor off of the Huron Mountain Gallery of the Peter White Public Library. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with city staff about interests and concerns.

Soup luncheon — The Trinity Lutheran Church women will sponsor a soup luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Featured will be homemade soup, bread, bars and beverages. The public is invited. The church is located at 414 E. Ridge St. in Ishpeming.

IHS 1957 — The Ishpeming High School Class of 1957 will meet at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming for soup luncheon.

The topic for January will be “Current Brook Trout Research in the Central U.P.” Northern Michigan University graduate students will talk about their research into brookies in western Alger County. All who are interested in cold water fisheries and conservation are welcome and light refreshments will be served.
