‘Three Identical Strangers’ screened

MARQUETTE — DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2018 documentary “Three Identical Strangers” at 7 p.m. Feb. 4 in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level of the Library.

Director Tim Wardle tells the story of three young men, Robert Shafran, Eddy Galland, and David Kellman who, while in college, accidentally discover that they are triplets, separated at birth. Their joyous reunion, however, is tempered by the sinister secret regarding the circumstances of their separation. Rated PG-13, this film runs 96 minutes.

“Three Identical Strangers” won 10 awards including the BAFTA Film Award for Best Documentary, the Most Compelling Living Subject of a Documentary from the Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards, and Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.

Camp #266 set to meet Feb. 2

MARQUETTE — Camp #266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will hold their bi-monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 in the old board room at the Jacobetti Veterans Home in Marquette.

The room is on the lower level of the Home and easily accessible from the rear parking lot.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union. Camp #266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking, and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history.

SERA to meet Feb. 4 in Escanaba

ESCANABA — State Employees Retirement Associaiton Upper Peninsula Chapter 16 will have a members meeting Feb. 4.

The meeting will be in the conference room of the State Building in Escanaba at 1:30 p.m.
