‘Jane’ screening to be held Jan. 7

MARQUETTE — DocuMonday presents a screening of the 2017 biographical documentary “Jane” at 7 p.m. Jan. 7 in the Peter White Public Library’s Community Room on the lower level of the Library.

Using never-before-seen footage, director Brett Morgen takes a look at Jane Goodall’s early work studying chimpanzees in Tanzania and the relationship she forged with them and her husband/cameraman, Hugo Van Lawick. Rated PG, this film runs 90 minutes.

“Jane” won two Primetime Emmy Awards: one for outstanding cinematography and the other for outstanding writing for a nonfiction program. In addition, this film was recognized as the best documentary for 2017 by numerous film associations including the Chicago Film Critics Association and the San Diego Film Critics Society.
