For Your Health presentation held

MARQUETTE — At noon Wednesday, therapist Penny Tussing will give a talk on Cancer Rehabilitation, this month’s For Your Health presentation in the Peter White Public Library’s Shiras Room.

For those with cancer and who are in recovery, therapy can help with their quality of life. The right treatment can help patients find more energy during the day, help them build strength and endurance, reduce pain and swelling, improve balance and tolerance, and improve range of motion.

Penny Tussing received her AAS from Muskegon Community College, MS from Grand Valley State University, and LAT from Grand Valley State University/Michigan Technological University. Her specialization includes outpatient orthopedics, shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle rehabilitation, and manual therapy techniques.

Penny first knew that she wanted to be a physical therapist after breaking her leg in a 2-mile race at the UP Finals in Marquette. Now she wants to help people get back to their everyday lives and uses an individualized hands-on approach to their rehabilitation.

This monthly lunch and learn session is sponsored by U.P. Rehab Services of Marquette and the Peter White Public Library. Bring a sack lunch as well as any questions you may have for the therapist.

There is no admission charge to attend. For more information, visit the library’s website at www.pwpl.info or call 906-226-4318.
