Superiorland Breakfast Kiwanis — meets 7-8 a.m., Pioneer Room A of University Center at Northern Michigan University. Meetings are open to the public.

12-Step Recovery Groups — offered daily at the Alano Club, 1202 S. Front St., Marquette.

MCHD — A WIC Clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Marquette County Health Department.

Chair yoga — Chair yoga is offered at the Gwinn Clubhouse at 10 a.m. $2 donation goes to library fund. Call 346-2117 for more information.

Alcoholics Anonymous — meets 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church in Ishpeming.

Open Gym — from 10:30-noon at PEAK Gymnastics and Fitness, Marquette. $5 entry fee. Non-members are welcome.

IHS 1958 — The Ishpeming High School Class of 1958 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. at the Jasper Ridge Brewery in Ishpeming. Spouses are welcome. The class meets at Jasper Ridge the third Thursday of every month. For more information, call 228-3066.

Safe and Sober Group — for survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence. 1-2:30 p.m. Conducted by the Women’s Center. Contact Camille at 226-6611 for more information.

Aktion Club — community service group for adults who live with a disability meets 1:30-2:30 p.m. first/third Thursdays at the Tourville West Clubhouse, Marquette. Call Troy Connors at 251-8353 or Miriam Black at 360-9430.

Genealogy — Peter White Public Library will host genealogy help sessions from 2-4 p.m. A representative from the Marquette County Genealogical Society will assist with family history questions on a drop-in basis. Bring family documents to the upper level of the library. Call the Reference Desk at 226-4312 for more information.

Diabetes support — group meeting from 5-7 p.m. at the Upper Peninsula Children’s Museum for parents of children living with type 1 diabetes. The group will be meeting every third Thursday of the month. Parents will have a chance to meet and discuss issues, concerns, and get advice from other parents who may be going through similar situations with their children. Snacks will be served. Book sale — The Friends of the Ishpeming Carnegie Public Library sponsor a sale of used books. The sale begins at 5 p.m. in the Leverton Community Room on the lower level of the library. At that time and on Friday hardcovers will sell for $1 and paperbacks for 50 cents. On Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon, all books will be half price, while in the afternoon there will be a bag sale, with books selling for $3 a bag.

TOPS — Group 1579 meets at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 440 Stoneville Road, Ishpeming. Weigh-in at 5 p.m., meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Sociable Seniors — meets at 5 p.m. at Hardee’s Restaurant, Marquette. Call 360-9450.

TOPS — Group 1372 meets at Silver Creek Church, 219 Silver Creek Road,

Harvey. Weigh-in 5:30-6:10 p.m., meeting at 6:15 p.m. Call 226-7930.

Zumba Class — meets 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Harvey Baptist Church. Cost is $3 per session, with proceeds going to missions around the world. Call 249-1013 and leave a message.

Bike Night — The Throttle Bar and Grill will have its Bike Nights from 6-9 p.m. Thursdays this summer. This date, Big Brothers, Big Sisters is the charity and Mucked Up and Crystal Barr Berglund are the sponsors.

Marquette Jaycees — meets for 6 p.m. social, 6:30 p.m. meeting the third Thursdays in the board room at the Landmark Inn, Marquette. Call 458-5783.
